EIBIR gemeinnuetzige GmbH zur Foerderung der Erforschung der Biomedizinischen Bildgebung (EIBIR)

The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) was established in 2006 as a non‐profit organisation dedicated to coordinating biomedical imaging research in Europe. EIBIR is a multidisciplinary organisation providing support services to researchers in the field of biomedical imaging, such as proposal preparation, project coordination and management of international research projects and clinical studies. EIBIR has its head office in Vienna, at the headquarters of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), EIBIR’s main shareholder. EIBIR`s network includes clinical and basic science departments as well as biomedical imaging industry. EIBIR’s mission is to strengthen biomedical imaging research by supporting research networking activities, common initiatives and interoperability in the field of biomedical imaging research.

Over the course of its existence, EIBIR has gained an excellent track record as project coordinator of more than 20 European projects under the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 and FP7 funding programmes. The organisation is also ideally placed to disseminate project results to relevant stakeholders in the field of biomedical imaging as EIBIR currently has a network of 70 member institutions from 22 countires across Europe.

Role in the project

EIBIR acts as project coordinator (WP1 leader) and will be responsible for all communication with the European Commission, coordinate consortium activities such as project meetings, consortium internal communication as well as financial and administrative issues. EIBIR will also coordinate the project’s communication activities (WP7).
